Sunny Patel MD

Endocrinology

Dr. Sunny Patel was born and raised in New Jersey. He received his undergraduate degree in biology from New York University in 2014. He later earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in 2018, where he graduated with high honors.

Dr. Patel went on to complete his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Long Island Jewish Forest Hills Hospital in Queens, NY in 2021, where he earned the distinction of Outstanding Resident of the Year during his second year of training. He became board certified in Internal Medicine upon completion of his residency in 2021.

Dr. Patel then completed a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ in 2023. His training also involved caring for the veteran population at the East Orange VA Medical Center.

During his training, Dr. Patel has been published and has presented at numerous professional conferences. He is skilled in the management of a wide variety of endocrine disorders, including thyroid disorders, diabetes, obesity, pituitary disorders, adrenal disorders, hormonal disorders, bone and calcium disorders, as well as transgender medicine.

Dr. Patel is an active member of the Endocrine Society, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, as well as the NJ Association of Endocrinologists.

In his personal time, Dr. Patel is an avid traveler. He enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking and photography.
